Downtown Houston's Best Restaurants [Updated 2024]

I'm from this part of town, so I know the ins and outs of all the places here. My restaurant hopping experience has been extensive, giving me plenty of knowledge about what to expect from the 7 restaurants I'll be reviewing for you today.

The atmosphere is perfect for families, friends and couples alike. The staff are friendly and attentive, always taking time to chat about what's going on in the city.

The food is simply amazing - from classic Italian dishes like Chicken Parmesan to classic American dishes such as burgers, Birraporetti's has something for everyone. Some of my personal favorites include their Clams Casino and Porterhouse Steak. Having had the latter many times before, I can confidently say it is one of the best steaks I've ever had!

To top it off, their award-winning craft beers are excellent, making this an ideal spot if you're in the mood for some drinks after dinner too.

All in all, I'd definitely recommend Birraporettis to anyone looking for the best restaurants in Downtown. It really is a great spot!

Brasserie Du Parc

The atmosphere is great; the decor is perfectly suited to the French-themed restaurant. The patrons are all dressed up, making the place feel incredibly classy. As for the food, it's absolutely delicious! The menu is full of different dishes using fresh ingredients, making it easy to find something that pleases your palate.

The staff at Brasserie Du Parc are some of the friendliest and most welcoming people you could hope to meet. They're always going out of their way to make sure you're happy and having a good time.

The Moonshiners Southern Table + Bar

I had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious meal at The Moonshiners last week. The menu was thoughtfully crafted and featured organic and locally sourced ingredients, resulting in perfectly prepared dishes. I quite enjoyed the Barbecue Pork Rinds with Honey Mustard Sauce, Cajun Fried Lobster, and Southern Fried Chicken Biscuit Sandwiches.

The service was top-notch too! Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu selections. He recommended one of their popular cocktails that included a mix of moonshine whiskey, mixed fruits, and herbs. It was simply delicious.

Despite being quite busy that evening, the atmosphere remained hospitable with an inviting ambiance. The country-style decor gave it a modern-rustic feel with classic touches like paintings of an old barn on the walls to bring out its southern charm.

Osso & Kristalla

I was immediately floored by the ingenuity of the dishes they served. From their specialty Ossoburger to their Capricciosa pizza, each dish had a unique and unforgettable taste. The ingredients used were all fresh, and I could tell that the chefs took great care in preparing them.

The atmosphere of Osso & Kristalla is unparalleled - from the traditional Italian decor to the warm hospitality of their staff. Every table was filled with friendly locals who were not shy about sharing stories about their favorite dishes at the restaurant.

No matter how filling your main course is, you will always find room for dessert! The Tiramisu and Cannoli were both top-notch, made with high quality ingredients that really bring out its flavors and aromas.

Overall, Osso & Kristalla is one of my go-to restaurants in Downtown for extraordinary Italian food with an incredible atmosphere and fantastic service. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for one of the best restaurants in Downtown!

Adair Downtown

From the delicious food to the excellent service, I have no complaints! The staff is always welcoming and attentive — they make sure that you feel right at home. As for the menu, the variety of dishes are impressive and delicious. From their classic steak and fries to their creative house-made specials, there's something for everyone. Their seasonal ingredients provide amazing flavor pairings that you won't find elsewhere in Downtown.

The atmosphere at Adair Downtown is also quite inviting – it's a great place for both an intimate dinner as well as a group outing. The decor is modern yet cozy, giving you a feeling of being at home while enjoying your meal. On top of all that, the prices are reasonable making this one of the best restaurants in Downtown.

Treebeards

The restaurant's cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food rank it highly in my book. Its menu is packed with traditional Southern soul foods and seafood dishes that are made to perfection. The fried okra here can't be beat, so I was delighted by the generous portion of it that was included in my meal.

Another highlight is the Coal Room, where you can enjoy a variety of craft beers and cocktails. The bartenders' knowledge about beer makes for great conversation, and the fact that they offer local brews makes the experience all the better.

Treebeards truly stands out among other restaurants in Downtown when it comes to providing excellent customer service and quality dishes. Whether you're looking for comfort food or a unique dining experience, Treebeards has something for everyone!

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks

From the mouth-watering seafood to the perfectly cooked steaks, McCormick & Schmick's offers something for everyone.
