I frequently travel back to Houston and it's an absolute must that I visit Brennan's of Houston. Their shrimp and grits is consistently the best in town.

Their unique twist on classic shrimp and grits includes succulent, flavorful Gulf Coast Shrimp served over creamy stone ground cheese grits with rich tasso ham gravy. The flavors balance so deliciously together that one can only truly appreciate them by tasting them.

I was delighted to find that The Moonshiners serves up the most flavorful and hearty shrimp and grits I've ever tasted. Their unique combination of spices, bacon, and mushrooms make for a mouth-watering flavor experience. Additionally, the cheese grits were incredibly creamy with just the right amount of heat.

The atmosphere at The Moonshiners is also top notch! The decor is fittingly southern-style with warm colors which created a cozy environment to enjoy their amazing shrimp and grits. Additionally, the waitstaff was attentive and friendly which only added to our dining experience.

Having traveled extensively throughout the South, I can attest to the fact that Grace's has some of the best shrimp and grits in Houston. The flavors were amazing and it was a great balance between creamy and salty. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, juicy on the inside and crisp on the outside. The grits were also cooked to perfection with just the right amount of creaminess.

The service at Grace's was great too! We were greeted by friendly staff who made us feel right at home. We never felt rushed or ignored.

It's hard to beat the iconic shrimp and grits. The dish is surprisingly flavorful and cooked just right. The creamy grits are nicely complemented by the smoky flavors of the shrimp, making it a must-have at Dish Society.

The atmosphere of Dish Society is great too. It has a modern, upscale vibe with plenty of seating options. I was able to relax and enjoy my meal without being surrounded by noisy crowds.

Another highlight of Dish Society was the service. Everyone was so friendly and helpful in getting my order just right. They let me customize my order, which made for a really enjoyable experience.

After trying State Fare Kitchen & Bar's take on this classic Southern dish, it's clear why they have a great reputation. The shrimp was fresh and full of flavor, while the grits had just the right consistency. The sauce mixed in with the grits really brought the dish together and made it even more flavourful.

The presentation was also excellent; it felt like a high-end restaurant without all the fancy price tag. I enjoyed that each option was tailor-made to my likes and dislikes - I could add or subtract ingredients without sacrificing taste.

Overall, State Fare Kitchen & Bar has some of the best shrimp and grits in Houston! I'm definitely a fan!
